Birthing With Joy offers a complete doula service consisting of two separate services labor support and help after the baby is born. Clients may arrange to have either or both services.

Labor support doula service includes 1-2 prenatal visits, constant accompaniment during the labor extending to 1-2 hours following the birth to help with the latch-on for initiating breast-feeding. One or two follow-up postpartum visits are also included to see how the new family is getting on. For this service the fee is a fixed rate.
 
For postpartum doula care after the baby has arrived, Birthing With Joy can help ease the transition into parenthood. Suggestions and support in baby care, mother care, family care and natural healing are among the various areas in which having a doula can be an enormous benefit. Contracting for this service is done on an hourly/weekly basis. If you are interested in either or both services, you are encouraged, early in your pregnancy, to set up an initial exploratory meeting, for which there is no fee.
